Know the Tree by its Fruit

June 1, 2020 By Jeff 3 Comments

Scripture cautions us to discern a tree by its fruit (i.e. the offspring of its nature) and not its testimony of itself. Now, it’s not my job to judge the fruit. Nor is it my job to condemn the fruit. But it is my job to not be fooled by the tree and protect those I love, even when it’s fruit might personally benefit me or them.

For those that profess to be believers, stop being fooled by what’s going on all around you in the natural. Our enemy is not someone of a different ethnicity or gender, political party or some shadowy government (as much as the deceiver has convinced many of you that some of these things are). The reason we fight with spiritual weaponry is because our adversary and the tools needed to combat and defeat him are spiritual.

Don’t be deceived into thinking you can defeat him with your limited human knowledge. He has been around for a long time and doesn’t care what you know; as that alone won’t defeat him. The only way to defeat him in your personal life is to pay attention to what your God says about him and his devices and fight the right fight the Father’s way using the Father’s wisdom. This is what true overcomers do and this is how they win the battle.

I lovingly say this to those that believe. Stop fighting the wrong fight. Your war is not with human beings. If you don’t, you are guaranteed to lose and your defeat will negatively affect far more people than you realize! This is exactly what our adversary wants you to do; give him a two for one. Don’t give him the satisfaction. Peace.

He gets us to see 2 sides, and then entices us to pick one. This helps the Adversary in being able to divide and weaken the saints. We’re called to be peacemakers within our homes, relationships, and the people we come across daily. Despite our emotions rising up and intellect going haywire, we must continue to choose Yahweh’s higher calling of peacemaker despite the conflict it brings us.

    Shalom
