Sliding scale, slippery slope

August 19, 2019 By Jeff Leave a Comment

Believers lose credibility in the world’s sight, when we pick and chose which transgressions we focus on (as if there is some sliding scale of sin in the Father’s sight). If all transgression is sin in the Father’s sight (and it is), then no transgression is worse than another. While it is true, different transgressions have different consequences. The fact remains, all transgression ends in death and separation from God. Thus, in the Father’s sight, murdering someone’s character is as sinful as murdering their person.

Believers need to stop focusing on correcting the unrighteousness of others and leave that to the Holy Spirit. We need to pray for their obedience and focus instead on correcting the ungodliness within ourselves and being an living example of His holiness before all men. Peace
